30 Days Wild: Day 6

Alan had a little lamb...

I can't believe it's day 6 of 30 Days Wild already! This morning I was out, but when I got home I decided I would venture into the Peak District National Park to a couple of places I usually pass if I'm driving to the east of Manchester. To be honest, it wasn't a particularly great trip out as there was very little to see. I was pressed for time though so, although it's not much, at least I've spent some time in nature.

I went to Lamaload Reservoir (isn't that a great name?!) in the Goyt Valley. There really didn't seem to be anything here of interest at the moment. It's the first time I've been though (even though I've driven passed it hundreds of times!) and I was in a rush. There were a handful of sheep and lambs in the field, none of which were remotely bothered by my presence. Number 127 stood and posed as I took a photo, and then carried on eating the grass when I was done.

There were a few geese on the water. Sadly this was as close as I could get. I'm actually about 200 metres from the waters edge. The reservoir is for private fishing, so there is a fence all around it stopping the public from entering. Other than that I saw some trees and the car park. Not as much nature as I would have liked, but it's better than none at all!
